Designing New Memorials
Personalized memorials reflect the uniqueness of those it memorializes. Although most memorials provide the basic information (name, date of birth, and passing date), sharing emblems or pictures of the life that was lived is a great way to honor that life. Who was this person? What were their passions, who were their loved ones, and what were the ways by which they’d like to be remembered?
Capital City Monuments is to here to assist you in creating a design that speaks of the person’s life. Our showroom in historic downtown Pierre provides a large selection of granite for you to see and touch. It’s home to our comfortable design studio from which together we will work to create your memorial.
In the showroom, you can view 30 granite and boulder memorials. You can also see a large selection of additional design features, such as vases, etchings, engravings, color and black and white portraits samples, and lettering or font designs.

Updating Existing Memorials
ENHANCING AN EXISTING MEMORIAL – Additions to existing memorials are commonly made, from adding the date of death to enhancing the memorial with your new ideas. Whether you want to add a vase, engrave or etch a design, add a portrait or a solar light, it’s not too late.
GRANITE CLEANING – Age and water stains can dull a beautiful memorial. Our cleaning service can be requested as you need it, or you may arrange for it to be an annual service.
LEVELING AND REPAIR – We offer leveling and restoration services to cemeteries, and we extend this service to you, as well.
VETERAN’S MARKER – For those who pre-planned their memorials and are now ready to add the veteran’s bronze grave marker for you, I can assist you ordering it and I can add it to the marker for you.
